Pork Chop

 29 Eleint, 1489 DR


     Today Poppy and Bella barged into my room unannounced, didn't even knock! Well, perhaps they did knock. I don't really know since I was engrossed in my studies. Besides that, Poppy dragged Bella and I out by the hand for the next job.

     We travelled into the Neverwinter woods with a cart of supplies to bring to a logging camp. On arrival, the camp was eerily quiet. We spotted some dead men and I examined their bodies. In that moment these large bugs popped out of the ground piercing into Bella from behind. They werre decently easy to fight off.

     Togar and Bella found some totem hidden in a chimney and destroyed it. We eventually found the man we needed to sign off on all the supplies we delivered and asked a few questions. We were told to visit some guy name Falcon at his hunting lodge.

     Heading east, we found the lodge, asked a few questions, and headed farther east to a spot Falcon mentioned, the Woodland Manse. A group of boars surrounded the manse and Poppy asked them for information. We eventually learned about Orcs, Half Orcs, and the possibility that some of them could be druids.

     We headed into the house cautiously, Kaleb going in from the balcony up top and Poppy transforming into a boar. We found stick figures dressed like each of us before they sprung to life and attacked us. As we fought, Poppy hurried up stairs to find Kaleb. I could hear pig squealing before she rushed back down bringing a handful of flying creatures with her. One by one we finished them off.

     We decided to split up with Kaleb, Corwinna, Togar and Bella up stairs while Poppy and I stayed down stairs. We could hear chanting coming from the room in front of us before opening the door, seeing a Half-Orc and a bunch of twig blights. We snuck our way back up stairs to join the others.

     Corwinna had found a secret passage to a library. Almost all of the books were in Elvish. From what I could tell (the books were badly water damaged) they talked about ancient civilizations. Heading down the staircase we could hear the same chanting again. We decided to ambush the twigs from both sides before completely destroying them. There was a symbol made of dirt on the floor in the shape of three lightning bolts. Corwinna knew it was the symbol of Talos, the Storm Lord. Apparently this deity was her latest ex husband. She interrogated the Half Orc and learned about them wanting revenge on the hunting lodge for all the Orcs Falcon killed. The Talos followers were going to summon a thunder boar apparently. 

     Bella really wanted to warn Falcon so we made our way back to the lodge. It was around one-thirty in the morning when we arrived so we decided to rest up and warn him in the morning.

13 Alturiak 1489 DR Today we decided to do some shopping. Catscratch went off on his own to who knows where while Luna and I visited the Shrine of Luck. Luna gave a coin in hopes for some good luck. The Book Thief (Part 2)

22 Eleint 1489 DR We finally met up with the head librarian and he told us about some of his staff missing. He told us to check the archives since that's where the two were suppose to be on duty today. The archives were huge but we found the area. We were too late once we noticed the dead body hunched over a table with piles of books. We did notice two of the books that were stolen were now open on the table with pages ripped out about the Pool of Radiance. Suddenly, a shockwave and rumble rang through out the archives as all the book cases toppled over. A hole was blown into a wall and we went to investigate. We found a room with old, burnt, books and were attacked by shadows. Luna was downed quickly while the rest of us finished them off. With Luna back on her feet, we hurried through another hole in the wall and ended up in the sewers. Luna caused these giant centipedes to fall asleep as we snuck by. Fairy Dust

30 Alturiak 1489 DR We've finally reached Red Larch. I was pretty familiar with the area since it's so close to the city of Yartar and, well, my ruins. We decided to help out some guy by killing wolves for pelts. As we entered the Krypt Garden Forest, we ran into a small pixie named Quill and his hedgehog steed Spike. This pixie wanted us to help him find a magical well that apparently heals any mounds. His wings were broken so he was hoping to get them fixed. We agreed to help in the morning as Quill lead us to the fairy trees. Small houses hung from branches. This was my first time ever seeing fairies before and never knew if they truly existed or not. I did barter for a rune stone. Pretty sure I got fire. Time to camp out. Guess I have first watch. In the morning we headed off deeper into the forest. It was darker and quieter, even with the sun high in the sky. Kinda reminded me of the forest surrounding the tribe. Theres nothing to fear in the dark, I've found out. ...
