Of Elves and Dragons



28 Eleint 1489 DR


Lee brought a new mission for us and we hurried to the Tea Kettle Inn. We met with a cloaked man who wanted us to pretend to be the buyers of a red dragon egg and plant a magical tracking device on the seller. We decided that Luna would be the buyer as Rain pretended to be her body guard. Catscratch hid in the back of the barn ready to plant the tracker while Cwl and I would be the look out.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly since we got the egg but I was surprise attacked by a Half Orc and had the wind knocked out of me. Cwl tried to warn our group but by then it was too late. They were blocked by all three of them. I staggered to my feet, climbed the building, and jumped down on the Tiefling who had Catscratch pinned to the ground. Luna (with some quick thinking) put all of them to sleep. Catscratch and Rain stayed behind as Luna and I hurried back with the egg. Apparently the egg was a fake. What a waste.

Back at Lee's place, Rain entered with some Elf guy named Leo. He apparently knew Catscratch from when he was just a hatchling. It was nice to see our bird had friends before us. Leo explained that he was saving Kenku's from slave traders and Rain was very interested on account that she found two Tabaxi kittens that ran away from the same ordeal. Leo eventually left and said he'd let us know when he found any info.

We were then called upon by Doomguide again to help out in the crypts under the graveyard. A "dead body" was missing. We found out it was most likely a Dracolich, an undead dragon who can turn into a humanoid form. Who knows how many dragons in disguise are walking among us.

13 Alturiak 1489 DR Today we decided to do some shopping. Catscratch went off on his own to who knows where while Luna and I visited the Shrine of Luck. Luna gave a coin in hopes for some good luck. If she wants to waste her coin on such things, by all means. But luck isn't going to help you survive in this world. Catscratch quickly appeared before us and even brought someone I've never seen before, a tall cat with a leafy looking cloak. A Tabaxi, I believe they're called. The Book Thief (Part 2)

22 Eleint 1489 DR We finally met up with the head librarian and he told us about some of his staff missing. He told us to check the archives since that's where the two were suppose to be on duty today. The archives were huge but we found the area. We were too late once we noticed the dead body hunched over a table with piles of books. We did notice two of the books that were stolen were now open on the table with pages ripped out about the Pool of Radiance. Suddenly, a shockwave and rumble rang through out the archives as all the book cases toppled over. A hole was blown into a wall and we went to investigate. We found a room with old, burnt, books and were attacked by shadows. Luna was downed quickly while the rest of us finished them off. With Luna back on her feet, we hurried through another hole in the wall and ended up in the sewers. Luna caused these giant centipedes to fall asleep as we snuck by. Fairy Dust

30 Alturiak 1489 DR We've finally reached Red Larch. I was pretty familiar with the area since it's so close to the city of Yartar and, well, my ruins. We decided to help out some guy by killing wolves for pelts. As we entered the Krypt Garden Forest, we ran into a small pixie named Quill and his hedgehog steed Spike. This pixie wanted us to help him find a magical well that apparently heals any mounds. His wings were broken so he was hoping to get them fixed. We agreed to help in the morning as Quill lead us to the fairy trees. Small houses hung from branches. This was my first time ever seeing fairies before and never knew if they truly existed or not. I did barter for a rune stone. Pretty sure I got fire. Time to camp out. Guess I have first watch. In the morning we headed off deeper into the forest.
