The Fall of Phlan

20 Marpenoth 1489 DR

I am now back in Phandalin as I write. We had to escape from Phlan after the dragon invasion. So many people died and we had to leave comrades behind. We are truly powerless.

We had met up with Allyd Burrel as she wanted us to accompany her in notifying the Lord Regent about the Black Fists and their crimes. Before we could, a large crash came from outside. A Green Dragon was attacking the city! Mobs of cultists invaded, killing and taking citizens as hostages. We ran to find the Lord Regent , helping all the citizens we could a long the way.

When we finally arrived at our destination we could see the Lord Regent tied up. Allyd Burrel ran in as a distraction so we could stealth our way in. Sadly, she died for her city. Cassyt arrived in tears. All thoseat the graveyard died as well. We all fought as hard as we could, almost dying. Catscratch saved the Lord Regent but as he went to escape with us a Green Dragon mask fell out of his bag. Rain confronted him as Luna picked it up, losing her right arm in the process by the same black dragon but in a humanoid form. The Lord Regent smiled as he exclaimed, "All hail Tiamat." Rain snapped his neck but not before the green dragon (also in humanoid form) cut off her left leg.

We were cornered when army's of all the factions appeared. They told us to run and get the mask to Sildar. We (accompanied by a large group of citizens) hurried through the sewers and escaped the city. We could hear the cry's of those still inside the city as we made the difficult decision to teleport back to Phandalin.

We were greeted with open arms and called hero's. Are we hero's? Do hero's run from those in need? I don't know. But for the greater good I suppose we did the right thing.
